I want my country back...

Just wantin' to share some of mine and some of my friends thoughts on America.. If you agree please feel free to pass these thoughts on to others who are like-minded and especially to those who are way to comfortable and like to complain about all the freedoms we enjoy..

I'M A BAD AMERICAN

I Am the Liberal-Progressives Worst Nightmare. I am an American.
I believe the money I make belongs to me and my family and the Lord, not some Liberal governmental functionary be it Democratic or Republican! I'm in touch with my feelings and I like it that way!
I think owning a gun doesn't make you a killer, it makes you a smart American.
I think being a minority does not make you noble or victimized, and does not entitle you to anything.
I believe that if you are selling me a Big Mac, do it in English.
I believe everyone has a right to pray to his or her God when and where they want to.
My heroes are John Wayne, Babe Ruth, Jimmy Stewart, Audie Murphy and whoever canceled Jerry Springer.
I don't hate the rich. I don't pity the poor.
I know wrestling is fake and I don't waste my time watching or arguing about it.
I've never owned a slave, or was a slave, I haven't burned any witches or been persecuted by the Turks and neither have you! So, shut up already. I believe if you don't like the way things are here, go back to where you came from and change your own country! This is AMERICA .
If you were born here and don't like it you are free to move to any Socialist country that will have you.
I want to know which church is it exactly where the Reverend Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton preache, where they get their money, and why they are always part of the problem and not the solution. Can I get an AMEN on that one? I think the cops have every right to shoot your sorry rear if you're running from them..
I also think they have the right to pull you over if you're breaking the law, regardless of what color you are. It's not racism, it's profiling stupid!
And, no, I don't mind having my face shown on my drivers license. I think it's good..... And I'm proud that 'God' is written on my money.
I think if you are too stupid to know how a ballot works, I don't want you deciding who should be running the most powerful nation in the world for the next four years.
I dislike those people standing in the intersections trying to sell me stuff or trying to guilt me into making 'donations' to their cause.
I believe that it doesn't take a village to raise a child, it takes two parents.
I believe 'illegal' is illegal no matter what the lawyers think.
I believe the American flag should be the only one allowed in AMERICA !
If this makes me a BAD American, then yes, I'm a BAD American.
I had 4 uncles who fought in WWII, for the freedoms we enjoy today. Even the freedom to complain and even thought we are still the most blessed people on the face of this rock…If they hadn't been willing, would I be speaking Japanese or German today? Germanese maybe…How soon we forget, but that is the price of prosperity..
I want my country back!

And then……

Our young college people start the day early having set an Alarm clock (MADE IN JAPAN ) for 6am.
While a coffeepot (MADE IN CHINA ) Was perking, they shaved with an
Electric razor (MADE IN HONG KONG ). Put's  on a Dress shirt or a new dress
(MADE IN SRI LANKA ),
Designer jeans (MADE IN SINGAPORE ) And Tennis shoes (MADE IN KOREA )
After cooking  breakfast in a new Electric skillet (MADE IN INDIA )
They sit down with a Calculator (MADE IN MEXICO )
To see how much available to spend today. After setting a Watch (MADE IN TAIWAN )
To the radio (MADE IN INDIA ) They get in a car (MADE IN GERMANY )
Filled with GAS (from Saudi Arabia ) And continues a search For a good paying AMERICAN JOB.
At the end Of yet another discouraging And fruitless day Checking a Computer (Made In Malaysia ),
They decide to relax for a while. They put on sandals (MADE IN BRAZIL ) turn on their TV (MADE IN INDONESIA ), And then wondered Why they can't find A good paying job In AMERICA ....

And then…….

Most in this country seem to concentrate on the problems we're having in this country lately; illegal immigration, hurricane recovery, alligators attacking people in Florida …
It's time to concentrate on solutions for the problems. It's a win-win situation. (Not my idea, but judge for yourself-it has merit)..

+ Dig a moat the length of the Mexican border.

+ Send the dirt to New Orleans to raise the level of the levies.

+ Put the Florida alligators in the moat along the Mexican border.

Any other problems you would like for me to solve today ?

PART OF THE PROBLEM

Think about this: If you aren't willing to read and or share for fear of offending someone-- YOU' RE PART OF THE PROBLEM! The vocal minority doesn't worry about offending, just being heard!!!

It is Time for America to Speak up!!!

soooooooo

I'm speaking up even though these aren't all my own words but they do convey the way I and some of my friends feel about the situation we face in this great country. We can't bury our heads in the sand any longer. This is a political season and our chance to voice our concerns and make sure they are heard!!! I want to thank those who feel like I do for some of their thoughts (mingled with mine in the above narrative).

Round 1 to the good ol boys

Well, round 1 in the political arena goes to the good 'ol boys, with Mitt Romney's announcement that he is bowing out of the race. To "Mormon, conservatives, It boils down to " we'll take your money, we'll take your votes but we won't back your candidate!" I admire him for recognizing and being willing to do this for the good of the conservative movement and for the American people!!!. I don't know if any of ya'all got the chance to listen to his speech just a few minutes ago, I did and my admiration for the man(not the Mormon) grew by leaps and bounds. I'm thinkin' that if he made this speech a month ago when he was still in the campaign, it may not have come to this today. He is a very brilliant, insightful, unselfish leader. I'm not sure where the conservative wing of the republican party is going to find their man because McCain is way to quick to side with the liberals to be called a true conservative and Huckabee has not shown me any reason to call him a conservative other than his Christian faith. I have to ask myself, what if, what if Sean Hannity and some of the other talk show hosts would have thrown their endorsements to Romney a month ago instead of so recently? What if Mitt Romney was a Methodist, or a Lutheran or even an agnostic? What if more of the "conservatives in America" would have supported what most political experts call the best man for the job, when looking at qualifications, experience, ideas and most of all values..What if.........

The 10 Commandments-Ronald Reagan

Ronald Reagan once asked what the 10 Commandments would have been like if  God had run them through congress! rather than Moses..
Mr. Reagan had a way of making one think about life. There would have been way more than 10 and there would have been "attachments" and they would have been called "suggestions" rather than commandments. After all, the word "Commandments" just isn't politically correct. The golden image would have been of the elephant and the Mule.Maybe end to end like a Minotaur and would be called the "mulephant."
Looks like "Popeye" McCain has the leg up on Mitt and the rest of the republicrats.McCain seems to be saying the right things but his history speaks for itself.  Conservative? Not hardly but he is the atypical politician. McCain/ Fiengold -- just a quick reminder. Campaign finance or campaign restrictions. doesn't sound like freedom and the American way to me. Where's superman when we need him. He rode of in to the sunset and all that remains is the darkness! Thank God for Joe Lieberman to balance things out in congress.I like Mitt Romney and then maybe Joe Lieberman for VP. I think 'ol Joe is the most honorable politician in congress right now. (just my personal opinion) but that will be my write in if Mitt doesn't get the nod. The choice between Obama and Hillary. How about spinach and Castor oil. Ya, you get the picture now. I do appreciate Popeye's service to this country but i think the torture he received in the jungles of Vietnam have had a lingering effect. (besides that his wife isn't a real blond!)..

I have to admire Sean Hannity. He has finally endorsed the man that he feels is best qualified to lead this country. No, he didn't jump on the front-runner bandwagon-he trusted to his conscience and jumped on Mitt's wagon. Mitt has the horsepower, but the road ahead is rough and muddy and gettin' muddier each day. Next Tuesday will be the line in the sand.
I'll get off my soapbox and close with another one from Mr. Reagan:
'The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.'
Happy Trails, y'all...................................

Sorry, no pictures this time around.

Winter itch

Dear bullpen blogspot ( a relative to dear diary):
Thanks to one of my Missouri relatives for today's subject. Winter itch. It's one of those age related illnesses that you don't find in all the medical journals. I have the itch for spring to be sprung upon us. I have the itch for a 30 hour work week and to have the day after thanksgiving declared a national holiday, at least a state holiday. Thank god for those Mormon pioneers, we have another holiday and a heritage to be proud of and something to look up to and to put our easy livin' in perspective.Other people itch for other things. Some for money and fame, some for a second chance, some for happiness and contentment. I'm content with life at this point in time, but I will be glad when the political stuff is all behind us for a year or so. Oh ya, I do itch for more time to spend with the wife and grandkids. Come to think of it, winter itch may be a brain disease. The more we dwell on what we don't have, the more the itch bothers us! Mind over matter (and it really doesn't matter that much!)  I think true happiness is being content with less! Some would say that that makes me a simple minded man, I think I'm just a simple man, so the rest of ya'all can think what ya want!!!!!!

Runnin' for somethin'

After watching last nights primary election in New Hampshire I feel kind of like Will Rogers when he said we ought to "Be thankful we're not getting all the government we're paying for." The political scene really is a dis-heartening part of American government. The fall of the ancient Roman Empire was blamed on "the senate". We have a house and a senate, where does that leave us? I feel that it is way to early for any trends to be determined, but the media's way seems always to be to try and shape the outcome of the process. (whatever the process may be) Hillary isn't a very good actor, so I hope she drops the teary eye stuff! I wonder if John McCain and popeye are related. Have you ever compared a side by side photo of the 2. Very interesting. Put a little hat on McCain and ......Don't get me wrong, I haven't decided who I will vote for because so far we dont really know what anybody stands for. Mitt Romney has come the closest to setting out any kind of platform. Everybody else seems to be content to attack him. Oh well, i guess even bad publicity is publicity! I think I'll just cast my vote for number 2 grandson seen here on the beaches of Mexico about 2 eeks ago. He's runnin' for somethin'.....And doin' a mighty fine job of it! Austin, Austin, Austin.......

Gettin' off on the right foot.

A thought from a gentleman that I truly admire-Ben Franklin:
"Be always at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let each new year find you a better man."
Fix what needs fixin', make peace where necessary and do whatever it takes to be a better man in the coming year!
